It particularly highlights the conditions of vulnerable childhood in Chile, the reception of school colonies, and the importance of these intervention devices in providing healthcare, educational support, and recreational practices. It emphasizes that school colonies, as hygienic-pedagogical devices, played a significant role in enabling children from impoverished families to engage in recreational activities and take ownership of spaces that would have been difficult to access without the colonies.
