Abstract
There are few cases reports of Enterobacter cancerogenus infec-tions. Although it has been isolated in contaminated wounds associated with trauma, it has also been reported as an etiological agent in a wide variety of other infections, with the presence of bacteremia being infrequent. We present the first case reported in Chile of a bacteremia caused by this agent, in a 28-year-old patient with a stable pelvic fracture due a high-energy traffic accident. He had a good clinical response to treatment with ertapenem.
