Abstract
Objectives:The latest edition of DSM-5 proposed the inclusion of the evaluation of the identity as a criteria common to severe personality disorders, this paper will attempt to rescue the doomed interest to this alleged incorporation, for which we will have a brief theoretical review of Identity Criterion of ego as a diagnostic priority item that allows the distinction between Neurotic Organization versus Borderline. This paper deals with the revision of the Criteria of the Self Identity such as a priority diagnosis element.
